Sacrifice for The Lord!
Mark 8:34-36
Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after ME, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow ME. for whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for ME and the Gospel, will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world yet forfeit his soul?"
Have a prayer filled day,

Tyler and Rob Golfing.....
As you all know, Rob and Tyler are both in Boy Scouts....
Well there is a golfing badge that Tyler needed. So, Rob and I took him Golfing last Wednesday (a week ago yesterday). We had a wonderful time. I was thrilled to watch Tyler learn this sport from his dad as Rob is a sports nut and a natural born teacher. I thank God daily for this new family to add to my existing wonderful family.
As usual the pics are posted on my web album at:

Rob and I went to see Marley and Me!
I absolutely fell in love with this movie..... I must purchase it when it comes out. Marley reminds me of my little Elsie and Rusty's big Buddy all bundled into one dog. For example Elsie made me chase her around the game room to get onto her for chewing up the bag the cat food was in... did I ever catch her. NO. I finally started throwing clothes at her so she would know I meant business. She ran for cover under Diane's desk.

Trip to Super Salad !
I honestly thought we were having a great time.
At any rate, Tyler asked to use my phone. I of course said yes. He was texting with his friend Dakota. When I got the phone back and was checking messages later I looked down, Tyler had apparently typed and told Dakota he was bored. WOW, I thought we were having a great time. I am not sure how to take this. He didn't seem bored while we were there. Does he feel like he has to be somone different to be around this kid Dakota? Is the person he is not "OK" enough for Dakota? I don't know..... I am truly baffled. If it were one of my two kids I would sit them down and say "knock knock, what is the problem here"? Why say your bored, when you clearly are not? Just to be "COOL"? I don't think so Mr. ! But I can't do that. There is a fine line that you just do not cross. At any rate, we had a good time (so my obliviouse self thought) !

A wonderful story of God's supernatural hand in answering prayer.
James Rutz, author of MegaShift, tells a wonderful story of God's supernatural hand in answering prayer.
"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16).
"I have a good friend named Barclay Tait who sells vacation real estate in Niceville, Florida. Back in 1977, he was a 36-year-old Florida basketball coach. That summer, he decided to hitch-hike to a Christian conference in Front Royal, Virginia. Arriving four days early, he went to a nearby forest and pitched his tent by a stream. On the last day, a tall, thin hiker with a notebook under his arm suddenly appeared, startling him as he read his Bible. Barclay explained that he came out there to fast and meditate.
Dave, the hiker, replied, "Well, I'm an intercessor. What would you like me to pray for?"
Feeling somewhat overwhelmed, Barclay said, "Uh, frankly, I'd like prayer for a wife." The man wrote the request in his notebook and walked on.
By 1988, Barclay, now married to Sherry, has been divinely guided to move to Asheville, North Carolina. A chance encounter in the Holiday Inn parking lot led to an invitation to join a gathering of a Christian group outside of town. Arriving just before the 7:00 P.M. meeting, the host walks in from the kitchen and stops dead in his tracks. "I know you!" he exclaims, pointing his finger. "You're Barclay Tait!" Barclay draws a blank.
"Just a minute. I have something I want to show you," the host announces. He scampers upstairs, leaving the puzzled Taits standing in the middle of the suddenly hushed room. In a moment the host reappeared with a well-worn ledger book. "See here? This is where I wrote your prayer request in column one when I met you in Front Royal in 1977: 'Barclay Tait: God's choice for a wife.'" Barclay looked down at the journal entry. It was the most detailed, methodical prayer journal he'd ever seen.
"I prayed for you for seven years," proclaims Dave. "Then in the middle of the night on December 30, 1984, God woke me up out of a sound sleep and said, 'Write in your journal, "Prayer answered." So I did. See? Here in column two, "Prayer answered.'"
Barclay and Sherry look at each other with their mouths open. They sat down, and their eyes fill with tears. Quietly, Barclay tells Dave, "That was the day we were married."

A weekend of romance
Rob took me away for a nice little retreat, instead of a traditional gift for Valentine's Day he took me shopping, so we spent the day at the mall walking around, shopping and talking. It was very nice. We went to a movie, watched junior hockey, had lunch and just spent some amazing quality time together.
God really blessed us with an awesome weekend of TRUE LOVE !!!!
OK.... I am a goof ball.....

Health, God, and Lil' Mamaw
I went to the spine surgeon today, and as nice as he was he handed me really not so pleasant news. He informed me that they could go in and "remove / scrape" the arthritis from my spine and put in some rods and pins, and providing my body did not reject them they could then do a second surgery to repair my bulging discs. That would repair only about 1/3 of the problem with my spine/back. The fun news was however that the surgery would never take place because even if he would take my case there was probably not an Anesthesiologist that would. He was so sweet, and could not say I would not make it through the surgery so he put it like this. On a scale of one to ten being the highest rate of success through the surgery, I was looking at a one. I cried, and he got teared up. I explained I had hoped for any new procedure that would help me get off of disability. He explained that due to my other illnesses/diseases that surgery was just still not an option for me. He explained also, which I thought was great information, that anytime they do back/spine surgery they legally can not give any kind of blood thinners. I have a disease that I must have blood thinners. I could not go for several days without my medication. I would clot up and have another stroke.
The reason I started blubbering was my Lil' Mamaw was crippled with arthritis. It eventually took her life. I just do not want to live my life like that. I know how she hurt. How her body would not, and could not move, but her mind wanted to. She was a wonderful person and I miss her so much. I watched arthritis completely cripple her and suck the joy right out of her life, then take her life. I don't want to be that person, and it scares me and makes me angry with God. Yes God knows I am angry with Him. He and I talk about it. In fact I am sure Lil' Mamaw is up there trying to tell him how to handle things with my family. But anyway, when I was crying to Billy he said something so seriouse but it stuck me with humor. He said, " With the way Mamaw was ate up with arthritis you had to wonder in the gene pool what was going to happen or who would get it, I am so sorry it was you.". Now isn't that sweet. I love my brother. I love the way he loves me and cares about not only my soul but my physical health.
By the way:
I just want to say that out of all my experiences of using parkland, this was a WONDERFUL experience. This doctor educated me on the reasons why we were making the choices we were regarding my health. He was quick to come in and see me. The room and facility were in excellent shape and condition (better than I have seen at Baylor). I know not all of my Parkland experiences are great, but GOOD JOB to the Spine Center at Simmons Building at Parkland.
and.....
I miss you and love you Mamaw.

True Repentance
I repented and am now truly saved.
Without true repentance you can not truly be saved. Repentance is not just saying the words of the promise and desire to change and turn from our sins, but living out the words. Walking daily with Christ, prayer and scripture study as we actually turn away from the sins we have repented of.
Are you truly saved or do you just think you are? I hope you are.

Brothers and Sisters
Sisters and brothers
My whole life I wished I could have a close relationship with my brother and my sister. We were all just so different growing up that it seemed impossible. I am so blessed to finally have both. I talk to my sister and brother each on a 3 to 4 times a week basis. It feels good to have these relationships. Oh, we still have very big differences, but those big differences seem so small compared to a life with no relationship with them. I love them both so very much.Thank you Lord for such blessings in my life.
