Stevee Marie's 19th Birthday

We went to Sam Houston State to celebrate Stevee Marie's Birthday with her. We had such a wonderful time. My baby girl is starting to show she is an adult, (except for a few minor details...lol) and responsible. I miss her so much.
There are two videos and pics on our Family Web Album:

Easter 2009

This was such a wonderful Easter. In celebration of the resurrection of my Lord, I cooked for the family, and enjoyed every minute of it. Lisa and her three kids, Jeremiah, Hailey, and Cody came over. As well as Fonda, Andy, Logan, and Bailey. Of course the McClures were all there, Johnny, Diane, Ryan, Peyton, Aaron, and Ashton. Rusty even came up and stayed all night with me the night before. We missed Stevee, Nathan, Tanya, Reagan, Daniel, and Samuel, as well as Nicole and James. Hopefully they will make the next holiday. We had a blast. I think the kids enjoyed the play dough and running up and down the steps the most.... lol

Sacrifice for The Lord!

I decided a while back to ban Pepsi and all of its products, which includes, Quaker, Gatorade, and Frito Lay! Believe me Pepsi and Lays Chips were two of my favorite foods. My reason for the boycott is that Pepsi Co. has been donating lots of money to gay rights as well as promoting the gay lifestyle on their television commercials. Do I not like gay people? It has nothing to do with LIKING or DISLIKING a person, but instead has everything to do with obeying my Lord. The Scriptures tell us, James 1:22 “don’t just listen to the scriptures, do what IT says”. If you are truly living for the Lord and living by the scriptures as the Lord directs us to do, then are you not ignoring and defying as well as choosing not to sacrifice for the Lord when you continue to enjoy these products as long as they support ANTI-CHRISTIAN agendas? Sacrifice for HIM is not something HE wants, it is something HE expects from HIS dedicated believers.
Mark 8:34-36
Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after ME, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow ME. for whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for ME and the Gospel, will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world yet forfeit his soul?"

Have a prayer filled day,
Regina

Texas Pledge

I am so pleased and proud that a supreme court judge ruled on Friday that the word GOD was to remain in the Texas Pledge Of Allegiance. I know God is smiling down on this decision!

Tyler and Rob Golfing.....

As you all know, Rob and Tyler are both in Boy Scouts....
Well there is a golfing badge that Tyler needed. So, Rob and I took him Golfing last Wednesday (a week ago yesterday). We had a wonderful time. I was thrilled to watch Tyler learn this sport from his dad as Rob is a sports nut and a natural born teacher. I thank God daily for this new family to add to my existing wonderful family.

As usual the pics are posted on my web album at:

Stevee's new home

Well Stevee Marie called me from Sam Houston today and...... She signed her first apartment lease. Is she really old enough to do that... hmmmm. The apartment will be for next year. She will be sharing it with a friend named Nadia. I have met Nadia and she seems very sweet. I am so excited for Stevee.

Rob and I went to see Marley and Me!

I absolutely fell in love with this movie..... I must purchase it when it comes out. Marley reminds me of my little Elsie and Rusty's big Buddy all bundled into one dog. For example Elsie made me chase her around the game room to get onto her for chewing up the bag the cat food was in... did I ever catch her. NO. I finally started throwing clothes at her so she would know I meant business. She ran for cover under Diane's desk.

Stevee is home for Spring Break... YEAH

Stevee is home for Spring Break... I have missed her so so much. I am amazed at how much she has matured since I last saw her. It has only been a VERY short time, but WOW! My baby is so adult now in her thinking. I will post pics soon. It amazes me how much she and I are alike. Even in looks, Diane walked into the kitchen the other day, and actually thought I was Stevee....

me, just me...

Sometimes, when you sit and think about life you get a clarifying in site of just how happy and blessed you are. We should remember this daily, but I know I don't. I have less material things in life now than I have ever had in my past life, but I still feel happier and more free now. Sure, I have a few things I want to improve on in my life. But over all, less has been best for me. It took me a long time to see that. Of course I do not have two small children I am raising on my own right now either, and that makes a huge difference in the stress level. There are so so so many things regarding my children that I wish I could go back in time and redeem a "do over" on. But since I can't I have made peace with me. And that is a great thing for anyone to do!
My Father God always has me in his grasp, and I love it.

Trip to Super Salad !

Well, since Rob was working late on Sunday, I took my nephew Ryan and my step son Tyler out to dinner. I took them to Super Salad to give Tyler a "Taste" of my world (vegetarian). WELL..... he tasted the salad and decided it was disgusting.. lol... and the faces he made. I do not think we will be going there ever again with him. Ryan on the other hand LOVES Super Salad so 50% good!
I honestly thought we were having a great time.
At any rate, Tyler asked to use my phone. I of course said yes. He was texting with his friend Dakota. When I got the phone back and was checking messages later I looked down, Tyler had apparently typed and told Dakota he was bored. WOW, I thought we were having a great time. I am not sure how to take this. He didn't seem bored while we were there. Does he feel like he has to be somone different to be around this kid Dakota? Is the person he is not "OK" enough for Dakota? I don't know..... I am truly baffled. If it were one of my two kids I would sit them down and say "knock knock, what is the problem here"? Why say your bored, when you clearly are not? Just to be "COOL"? I don't think so Mr. ! But I can't do that. There is a fine line that you just do not cross. At any rate, we had a good time (so my obliviouse self thought) !

Another trip to Incredtible Pizza....

Okay... I am addicted to Incredible Pizza. I love the food and the fun... !
We met there on Friday night, Me, Daniel, Samuel, Lisa, Jeremiah, Hailey, Cody, Fonda, Nicole, Bailey, Logan, Ryan, and Johnny.
Than, my friends from "Mother's Day Out" Ian and Dublin showed up with their family. We had the best time. We rode the Go Karts, Bumper cars, Played Games, and jumped in the bounce house.
I am sorry I do not have a camera right now to take pics but I am working on getting one. My camera phone does not take good pics inside darker places dang it.

Ryan's Competition

Ryan competed in the Vocal Solo and Ensemble competition yesterday. He was scored with a 1 (one) which is the highest score! His song was "Romance" by Debussy.
He now gets to advance to the "State Solo and Ensemble Competition" in Austin Texas this May.
Yeah Ryan.... We are so proud of you.

A wonderful story of God's supernatural hand in answering prayer.

Prayerfully Arranged Marriage
James Rutz, author of MegaShift, tells a wonderful story of God's supernatural hand in answering prayer.

"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16).

"I have a good friend named Barclay Tait who sells vacation real estate in Niceville, Florida. Back in 1977, he was a 36-year-old Florida basketball coach. That summer, he decided to hitch-hike to a Christian conference in Front Royal, Virginia. Arriving four days early, he went to a nearby forest and pitched his tent by a stream. On the last day, a tall, thin hiker with a notebook under his arm suddenly appeared, startling him as he read his Bible. Barclay explained that he came out there to fast and meditate.

Dave, the hiker, replied, "Well, I'm an intercessor. What would you like me to pray for?"

Feeling somewhat overwhelmed, Barclay said, "Uh, frankly, I'd like prayer for a wife." The man wrote the request in his notebook and walked on.

By 1988, Barclay, now married to Sherry, has been divinely guided to move to Asheville, North Carolina. A chance encounter in the Holiday Inn parking lot led to an invitation to join a gathering of a Christian group outside of town. Arriving just before the 7:00 P.M. meeting, the host walks in from the kitchen and stops dead in his tracks. "I know you!" he exclaims, pointing his finger. "You're Barclay Tait!" Barclay draws a blank.

"Just a minute. I have something I want to show you," the host announces. He scampers upstairs, leaving the puzzled Taits standing in the middle of the suddenly hushed room. In a moment the host reappeared with a well-worn ledger book. "See here? This is where I wrote your prayer request in column one when I met you in Front Royal in 1977: 'Barclay Tait: God's choice for a wife.'" Barclay looked down at the journal entry. It was the most detailed, methodical prayer journal he'd ever seen.

"I prayed for you for seven years," proclaims Dave. "Then in the middle of the night on December 30, 1984, God woke me up out of a sound sleep and said, 'Write in your journal, "Prayer answered." So I did. See? Here in column two, "Prayer answered.'"

Barclay and Sherry look at each other with their mouths open. They sat down, and their eyes fill with tears. Quietly, Barclay tells Dave, "That was the day we were married."

A weekend of romance

I Must Say this was the most special Valentine's Day weekend ! Rob is the most wonderful man. The Lord has truly blessed me with a very special husband. I have always dreamed of a man that loves me unconditionally and ALLOWS me to feel that unconditional love. I now have it! I honestly never ever thought I would. This weekend something was completed in me that I can not explain in words, but I know Rob and the Lord understand it. It is a feeling of completeness with the three of us, Rob, The Lord, and me.It just took that extra little push.
Rob took me away for a nice little retreat, instead of a traditional gift for Valentine's Day he took me shopping, so we spent the day at the mall walking around, shopping and talking. It was very nice. We went to a movie, watched junior hockey, had lunch and just spent some amazing quality time together.
God really blessed us with an awesome weekend of TRUE LOVE !!!!

OK.... I am a goof ball.....

So, I had this brainiack (is that even a word) to set up the family blog. But I thought I could set it up under my regular blog account (franks-king.blogspot.com) account hahahaha... WRONG. I completely messed it up. So... to all of my sweet family members.... please be patient. I will set up the family blogging account and resend all of the emails out again.... can you say TEXAS DING DONG?

Our trip to Incredible Pizza

Sooooo...... I like took my step son and a few of my nieces and nephews to Incredible Pizza this weekend! What a BLAST! I love that place. We had the best time. The kids were ALL great and very well behaved. Everyone ate really well and then played until exhausted and then wanted to play more..... lol The really cool thing is that it is not so expensive that you feel like you just spent your savings to go there. You actually can enjoy yourself and stay within your budget. The one down side is that they do not watch the exit door so good so you must watch your little ones. But I do that any way so all is good!
Check out the pictures we took at Incrdible Pizza @ http://picasaweb.google.com/franksregina

For those of you getting this via email, if you would like to comment to this blog, please go to my blog page to do so and not just reply to this email. Thanks and I love you all.

Underworld

Rob took me to the movies tonight. We went to see Underworld. Oh my word.... Awesome is all I can say. I loved it. However, I must say if you have not seen the first two, then this third one will not be quite as enjoyable but still a good flick as long as you like Vampire movies. I on the other hand have seen the first two multiple times of course.

Rob also took me out to dinner and then to shop for him a new pair of shoes. It was a great "date night".

But then again, how could it not be with such a great guy like him.....?

Health, God, and Lil' Mamaw

You know, my brother said something to me today that made perfect sense after I finally finished with a 20 minute blubbering ball session on his shoulder.
I went to the spine surgeon today, and as nice as he was he handed me really not so pleasant news. He informed me that they could go in and "remove / scrape" the arthritis from my spine and put in some rods and pins, and providing my body did not reject them they could then do a second surgery to repair my bulging discs. That would repair only about 1/3 of the problem with my spine/back. The fun news was however that the surgery would never take place because even if he would take my case there was probably not an Anesthesiologist that would. He was so sweet, and could not say I would not make it through the surgery so he put it like this. On a scale of one to ten being the highest rate of success through the surgery, I was looking at a one. I cried, and he got teared up. I explained I had hoped for any new procedure that would help me get off of disability. He explained that due to my other illnesses/diseases that surgery was just still not an option for me. He explained also, which I thought was great information, that anytime they do back/spine surgery they legally can not give any kind of blood thinners. I have a disease that I must have blood thinners. I could not go for several days without my medication. I would clot up and have another stroke.
The reason I started blubbering was my Lil' Mamaw was crippled with arthritis. It eventually took her life. I just do not want to live my life like that. I know how she hurt. How her body would not, and could not move, but her mind wanted to. She was a wonderful person and I miss her so much. I watched arthritis completely cripple her and suck the joy right out of her life, then take her life. I don't want to be that person, and it scares me and makes me angry with God. Yes God knows I am angry with Him. He and I talk about it. In fact I am sure Lil' Mamaw is up there trying to tell him how to handle things with my family. But anyway, when I was crying to Billy he said something so seriouse but it stuck me with humor. He said, " With the way Mamaw was ate up with arthritis you had to wonder in the gene pool what was going to happen or who would get it, I am so sorry it was you.". Now isn't that sweet. I love my brother. I love the way he loves me and cares about not only my soul but my physical health.
By the way:
I just want to say that out of all my experiences of using parkland, this was a WONDERFUL experience. This doctor educated me on the reasons why we were making the choices we were regarding my health. He was quick to come in and see me. The room and facility were in excellent shape and condition (better than I have seen at Baylor). I know not all of my Parkland experiences are great, but GOOD JOB to the Spine Center at Simmons Building at Parkland.
and.....
I miss you and love you Mamaw.

Tyler's Birthday

Well.... Tyler turned 15. He had his celebration feast at Joe's Crab Shack. We had a wonderful time. Tyler had about 18 or 19 friend and family members that attended. We had the wonderful pleasure of watching Tyler "break it down" for us on the dance floor. He also managed to get his grandma to dance with him which was so fun to watch. Before the night was over, one of the great gifts Tyler got to open was a Letterman's Jacket. He was very surprised by the gift. The Party ended with the Joe's Crab Shack workers singing Happy Birthday and had Tyler running around the restaurant in a cowboy hat riding a stick horse, and being chased by two little Indians. IT WAS GREAT FUN !

True Repentance

I always thought I was saved because I THOUGHT I had a relationship with Christ. It was in June of 2008 that Christ showed me what TRUE REPENTANCE is and what REPENTANCE really meant. A key factor I had left out of my relationship with Christ.
I repented and am now truly saved.
Without true repentance you can not truly be saved. Repentance is not just saying the words of the promise and desire to change and turn from our sins, but living out the words. Walking daily with Christ, prayer and scripture study as we actually turn away from the sins we have repented of.
Are you truly saved or do you just think you are? I hope you are.

God Tube

I have recently been turned onto God Tube..... boy I love it. I have met some very talented Christian Musicians as well as Ministers on there. Hope my family will all check it out. At first it is a little hard to understand the front and back page. Kind of like myspace or facebook. But when you get the hang of it you will feel as if it paid off.

Brothers and Sisters

Sisters and brothers

My whole life I wished I could have a close relationship with my brother and my sister. We were all just so different growing up that it seemed impossible. I am so blessed to finally have both. I talk to my sister and brother each on a 3 to 4 times a week basis. It feels good to have these relationships. Oh, we still have very big differences, but those big differences seem so small compared to a life with no relationship with them. I love them both so very much.
Thank you Lord for such blessings in my life.

My Daughter

What is a mom to do when she has a daughter that is as hard headed as the mom was at her age.....? Like getting a speeding ticket in a school zone...ouch!

Rob's work hours

The hours Rob works drive me crazy........ When he works 6-2 we see each other all the time, but when he works 2-10 or 10-6 it is as if we do not get to see each other. I don't get it. He is still working 8 hours, and sleeping 8 hours. GRRR
